Before / 02
- Know if your home or route is in a flood zone
- Store documents in a waterproof pouch
- Move valuables off the floor
- Plan a route to higher ground
During / 03
- Move to higher ground immediately
- Never drive or walk through flood water: 6 inches can knock you down
- Turn off electricity only if safe and dry
After / 04
- Avoid flood water: it can be contaminated or electrified
- Discard food that touched flood water
- Watch for mold and dry out within 48 hours
